This course is the advanced-level component of the Trafficking-in-Persons Training Module for prosecutors. It focuses on the financial investigation of trafficking-in-persons cases, including the money laundering aspects associated with such offenses.
The course aims to strengthen prosecutors’ capacity to trace, investigate, and prosecute the financial dimensions of trafficking cases. It covers provisional remedies, including the freezing of accounts and assets of accused persons, as well as civil forfeiture of the proceeds of the crime. It also addresses mutual legal assistance with foreign jurisdictions for asset freezing and recovery, including the relevant procedural requirements.
